5 Causes. 6 Countries. 30 Days. Are you game?
Join the biggest Muslim youth fundraiser of the year and take on the ultimate Ramadan challenge! We’ve partnered with Penny Appeal Australia to bring you 5 unique causes across 6 countries that aim to make a difference in the lives of those affected by natural disasters, war, famine, and drought. Last year, we had over 40 volunteers from 12 teams come together to raise over $27,000. We saw a cupcake business, cinnamon scrolls for justice, a 30-hour speaking strike, a professional photography service and a tonne more creative ideas. This year we are aiming to double the target and raise over $50,000. If you are ready to harness your creativity to make a difference in the world while having fun and meeting new friends along the way, do yourself a favour and sign up!
If you have what it takes, come to our Volunteers Induction on Saturday 18 March from 11am to 1pm at Punchbowl Community Centre.
1. Can I participate in the fundraiser if I can’t attend the Volunteer Induction?
Yes, however, we highly encourage attendance as the Volunteer Induction is where you’ll get the chance to meet everyone and understand how the fundraiser works.
2. Is there an age requirement for volunteers? How do I know if I am too old or too young?
No, there is no age requirement. All are welcome, whether young or old. This is a youth-organized fundraiser, but we encourage diverse ages to bring diversity in the creativity of fundraising ideas and efforts.
3. Do I need to become an MYA Volunteer before participating in the Muslim Youth Ramadan Fundraiser 2023 (MYRF23)?
No, you don’t need to become an MYA volunteer. Anyone can participate in the fundraiser.
4. Will the event be segregated?
We will have different sitting areas for males and females.
5. Is there a nearby station? Is there free parking available?
Yes, Punchbowl Station is just a 4 minute walk from the venue. There is also a parking lot with plenty of parking spots available.
