Islam’s success as a global civilisation was built on Muslims powerfully capturing the hearts of people wherever they went. Irrespective of time, place or culture, strong healthy Muslim communities formed and flourished, with a practice of Islam that resonated with local peoples. These communities became beacons of beauty and light for nearby non-Muslims, and this played no small role in the spread of Islam across the world. This conference seeks to continue this rich legacy within Australia. By combining a deep understanding of our local context with an undying commitment to our Islamic tradition, we aim to explore topics and themes which will revive the relevance of Islam in the lives of Australian Muslims today.

Sports has the power to unite people like little else does. In many ways, it is the uncontroversial and all-inclusive language of the youth – an activity which has the power to be physically, mentally and socially enriching all at once. The Muslim Youth Cup 2021 seeks to be a community-first in tapping into the transformative potential of sporting activities. Our aim is to attract the many Australian Muslims who have an undying love for sports, yet may have remained disconnected from the wider Muslim community for various reasons. We seek to create a sense of camaraderie and connectedness at a scale previously unseen and to do so in a truly inclusive way – hosting competitions for both men and women and inviting absolutely everyone to participate.
The pursuit of a career has become a fundamental cornerstone of modern life. Muslims are no strangers to the various pressures – economic, social or otherwise – to strive for achievement and contribution through their professional lives. At the same time, there is an ever increasing desire amongst Muslim youth to think beyond the mindset of the market – to aspire for more than the superficial and the material. The Muslim Youth Career Expo seeks to fill this gap for both High school and University students in a truly innovative way. It seeks to bring together various cohorts of the community in providing essential career guidance to young Muslims at a pivotal part of their lives, while also truly elevating the discourse around careers and professions. In a compelling and captivating format, it will provide perspectives that are not only practical, but are rooted in critical thought, spirituality, and an unbreakable desire for contribution to the Ummah.
To exist in today’s society means to be constantly at odds with the pressures which distract us from our ultimate purpose in life. We often get so caught up in the materialistic, fast-paced, modern world; life can easily become a meaningless blur. Thus, we are hosting this 3-day Journey to God Intensive to deliver a transformative life-changing experience where attendees walk away with a rekindled connection to the Divine. While the intensive will include studying sacred knowledge with local scholars, it will be more than just this. Attendees will be immersed in a natural environment where the signs of Allah are all around them, and will participate in various activities to transform the heart, such as reflection on nature, dhikr, hiking, archery and other Islamic arts and practices.
Living in Australia and the West is riddled with challenges. It is no longer possible to grow up in today’s age without being confronted by the various ideas and paradigms permeating Western institutions – whether that be secularism, liberalism, atheism or others. Alongside this, the various realities of the modern world present us with challenges that we have never had to deal with before. As a result, we have countless Muslims who are confused, searching for answers or have lost confidence in their faith altogether. In response to this, we are launching the Islamic Thought Project, an online course platform that explores pressing, relevant and needed topics with only the best scholars and experts from around the globe. Our intention is to deliver more than a mere series of lectures; rather we want to provide a state of the art university-like experience with an online class portal, weekly readings, assessments, study sessions, and more.
In a technologically savvy world where all youth are immersed in an online platform, we aim to create an online presence for ourselves that will truly revolutionise Islamic content on the internet. We seek to be the biggest source of online Muslim activity and create a space of contribution for every Muslim youth in Australia. We will cater to the various online platforms available and interact with Muslims across the world through blogs, photography, videos, memes and more. There is a large, dynamic and ever-changing scope to the online world and how we engage with it is almost limitless in reach and impact.
The Muslim Youth Creativity Platform will sit on our website, however, will be shared across our social media and other platforms which are as follows:
