Shaykh Omar El-Ghaz
Sheikh Omar El-Ghaz was born in Sydney Australia and graduated from Malek Fahd Islamic School in 2005.
In 2008, he travelled to the University of Tripoli in Lebanon and returned to Australia in 2017 with a Bachelor of Shariah and a Diploma of family jurisprudence.
Sheikh Omar is now a member of ANIC and an established Imam at the UMA in Sydney Australia where he teaches in Sydney Islamic College, delivers Friday Khutab and lessons and heads the Dawah Department which has over 20 initiatives that serve the community at the grassroots level.
Omar Al-Jamal
Omar Al-Jamal is a representative from Human Appeal, passionate about serving both the Australian community and the wider Muslim community around the world. When Omar is not leading and spearheading Human Appeal’s charity campaigns, he is known to deliver regular sermons in mosques and run multiple programs for the youth.
1. What happens if it rains?
In the case of wet weather, we will move our event to an indoor venue. While clear rain is an obvious indication of wet weather, please note that we may also move our event indoors based on the likelihood of rain according to forecasts or if the grounds are wet and damp. We will post an update on the morning of the event (10am) on our Facebook and Instagram pages, and send email to those who have registered.
2. Will there be an AUSLAN interpreter?
We provide AUSLAN interpreters based on demand. If you would like for us to organise AUSLAN interpreters then please private message us on our social media pages, Facebook or Instagram.
3. Will the event be segregated?
We will have distinct zones for males, females and families. When purchasing your ticket, please select which zone you would like to be seated in. If our event is moved to indoors due to wet weather, then we will install a barrier.
4. Do I have to register beforehand?
Yes, you must register by Thu 27 October. After this point, the ticket discounts and bundles will no longer be available and registration will not be guaranteed.
5. Will there be free parking?
Yes, there is a parking lot situated within the park as well as ample parking in adjacent streets.
6. Will there be dinner?
There will be food stalls selling Mixed Plates. You can also buy food bundles when purchasing your ticket online! There will also be a variety of snacks available for purchase such as apple tea, popcorn, fairy floss, soft drinks.
